I haven't been enthusiastic about fall, because it has been TOO HOT to be considered fall. Even though we've passed the Autumnal Equinox, in my mind, it doesn't turn fall until the thermometer drops below 80. Our trip to the market today changed my bad attitude. It was a somewhat cool 75 degrees with a brisk wind and lots of sun. The earth seemed to breath a sigh of relief after two solid days of rain and going outside was a treat instead of a dry, crunchy, sweaty ordeal.
I went a little snap-happy at the farm stand, but the different textures and colors were downright inspiring. It was a feast for the senses, and it was all fresh and local!
Leave it to Little Bear to find a sponge in the midst of hundreds of pumpkins and gourds.
Thanks to Farm to Family for the excellent photographic subjects.

I must say that LB looks quite pleased with herself for ferreting out that nifty sponge!

Oh My! Look at those gray and white pumpkins!!!!! Why paint pumpkins black and white (which is all over the place right now) when they come in natural colors like that?! I'm going to have to look for those this year!
