Thank you very much for sewing me this very pretty dress. I think I look rather spiffy in it with my new white tights, even though Daddy put them on me backwards and the heels ended up scrunched over the tops of my ankles. I wore your dress to church this morning, and Mommy said that it was only my cuteness that saved me from proving myself a great nuisance. Not that I know what this means.
Did you know that your dress goes perfectly with my master plan? Really! I've decided that sleeping in a crib is SO last year, and to keep Mommy and Daddy on their toes, I've started climbing out every night. EVERY NIGHT! It's so exciting. This dress is wonderful for climbing, because it doesn't get tangled around my legs. I can jump in it too. I did both of these things at church. Um, I can do them anywhere. I'll show you when I see you.
The lady next to me at church said my dress was pretty. I thought maybe that meant I could look in her purse. Just a peek. And it was only because my horsey was running and the purse was in the way. He couldn't jump over it. He's a little horsey. Mommy said no. (sigh) She always says no. How does she see everything anyway?
She even saw me when I tried crawling out of the pew on my belly. I'm positive that if I stay low to the ground, no one can see me. Even in my very pretty dress. With the bunched up tights.
Then came my favorite part of church. The man in the white robe said his magic words* and I said mine. "YAY!" I yelled. Mommy said that she hoped he admired my enthusiasm. Not that I know what this means. He did say that he liked seeing the children here. He should have said bears too. 'Cause that would be me.
I'll see you soon, Aunt Sim, and I'll cut some didos and jump off ridiculously high things that will make you worry. But don't. I do this kind of thing all the time.

Mommy's P.S. *The priest says, "let us pray." Little Bear answers, "YAY!" Has he ever had such an openly enthusiastic parishoner? One hopes he has a sense of humor at least.
I know! Aunt Sim is incredibly gifted. I envy that collar in a BIG way.

PartyMom - that's what I'm hoping everyone thinks. :)
Margo - I can't wait to meet you in "real life!" At least G's comment was in the right category of response.

Dear Little Bear,
You look cute as a bug's (or bear's) ear!
A little girl in a Peter Pan collar is automatically awarded 7 good behavior points toward a church goal of 10. The other three are easily accumulated by not making loud, er, digestive noises in church. Something about the Lord's Day seemed to bring that on in your cousins when they were young.
Love,
Your Aunt Sim
Have you considered Pentecostalism? Seems you have leanings in that direction.

I love it! Laughing! Can't wait to meet AG for real at the attic party :)
That is a very pretty dress. And at least your husband puts tights on the children. Mine thinks sweats for the children are a great idea for church. I no longer allow him to dress the children for church.
When G was little and the pastor said, let us pray, she would yell "AMEN!" Now she has much more adult church manners :) ANd I always worry that my children are being too disruptive and invariably some nice person tells us how well-behaved they were. huh.

Isn't she adorable in that dress and those tights! Don't worry about the bunching...T's tights bunch all the time-though it's typically because I still shove tights on her even when they're obviously way too large!
As far as church going; we have been told by many a church parent not to worry, and that we've all been there. It's just good to see people at church in the first place!
