My mother bought the book, Never Tease a Weasel, when I was little. Probably because I went through a long phase of teasing my brother mercilessly. Did I understand the correlation? Not enough that it slowed me down any, but I loved the rhyme of the story and its British terms. It takes skill to rhyme with cravat.
Little Bear likes to read the story to Mudslide.
It's ironic because the dog is her favorite pal to tease. If she has a cracker or a piece of bread as a snack, she'll call Muds over and show it to him, carefully angling herself so that he can't put his mouth on it. She pauses for a moment and then takes off running down the hall with Mudslide in hot pursuit. She's laughing and his tail is wagging, so no one is really upset by the game. Eventually she'll get tired of racing around and will drop the prize much to Mudslide's satisfaction. Or she'll get sloppy, and he'll snatch it out of her hand. She may come complaining to me in bear language about Mudslide's thievery but I usually have little sympathy for her teasing game. Cause and effect. I'll be so pleased when Little Bear makes the connection.
I just read the post where you posted about the cookbook/wedding shower gift. Call up your mother right this minute and tell her there is a crazy Latina on top of a mountain in the middle of nowhere Tennessee that is bowing to her - and it is a very deep bow at that. I am absolutely in love with what the women in your family came up with. I am going to start that same tradition in our family. When I have more of a cook"book" put together, I will post about it and I will have to link back to your post - everyone should read it. Thanks for sharing it with me. Carolina

sweeeet photos. I hate when my kids play this game, though, I must say.

Thank you, Carolina! Were moving out of state. (sigh) It will be a good move for all of us, but the packing part... I watercolor on occasion and will take your advice about painting that first pic. Now if I could just locate my paints.

I haven't been reading your blog long enough to know wether you are moving or just remodeling the kitchen, but I do know this- you need to blow up one of these pictures to a very large size and hang it in your new space. My personal favorite is the first photograph. Do you paint? This photograph, painted, would be spectacular. Carolina
