As I mentioned on Wednesday, I wrote a short short story for Chris Jensen, my erotic horror writing friend. (You can read his day-in-the-life post that he wrote for my blog here.) The first draft I sent to him was returned with the note, "Make it sexier, and add more blood." So I did. See what a good little writer I am obeying editorial comment? It's horror, so there's no happy ending. Quite a gruesome ending, actually. Before I offer the link, though, I need to run through the disclaimers.
First of all, you have to be eighteen and older to read. When you press the acknowledgement button on Chris' blog, you're taking full responsiblity. No whining that your eyes are burning from reading the spooky sexy. If you're under eighteen and you have permission, I don't believe you for a second. Turn off the computer and go tell your mama you're sorry.
Secondly, my mother really shouldn't read it. Nor should any of my family. I don't want to sit across from my loved ones at Thanksgiving wondering if you're thinking, "I can't believe she wrote a story with the word ____" every time I ask you to pass the gravy boat.
While we're at it, none of my Facebook friends should read it either. Or friends of my friends on Facebook who I don't know yet but who might want to friend me at some time in the future. Read this story, and you're going to have to give it some thought.
*deep breath* I think I covered everyone. (I mentioned my mom, right?) So here it is. Don't say I didn't warn you. horrorwritingdaddy.blogspot.com
I just read the story and commented on it. Loved it. I'm not much of a horror reader, but I really did enjoy that one. I hope you develop it further as you mentioned in one of the comments. Be sure to tell me when you do!
Now I'm really looking forward to this book you have coming out at the end of the year! :-)

I feel the same way when my criminals or bad guys get out of control in my stories. I always think of that same table of family thinking....Where the HELL did he come up with THAT!?!? I caught your story on Jensen's blog by the way, I didn't see the unhappy ending coming, I really liked it. Keep up the great work!
